Why there are no IDEAL men???

"When creating Husbands, God promised women
that good and ideal husbands
would be found in all corners of the world..
and then he made the world round...."

One of my students had posed this quotation on FB. Well, it only shows that God did really have a wicked sense of humor. Perhaps, He knew, it would be hard..no.. impossible to satisfy any woman and so he made a standard version, compatible to all kinds of women. I am assuming that God is He, and He made man in his image. So the sense of amazement and confusion He had about what would satisfy a woman has come down to us mortals... We wonder what a woman wants.... they wonder why men do not understand them!!!! Frankly speaking, that is where the fun is and the name of game is Guess. Some times you hit the bulls eye and mostly, you end up looking like a lost puppy. In fact, that is what every woman wishes. She wishes that the man looks lost and helpless; how else do you think they can demand the most outrageous gifts as compensation for not able to understand them!!!!! Have you ever seen a girl hold a puppy; they practice that right from childhood. Practice does pay dividends.

Perhaps, if God were to be a She, things would have been different. Then man would have been made in a way a woman desires a man to be. Each a customized version for every type of woman. (you see, woman can not be a standard version) It would be like carrying a smart phone, you just have to think and it would do your wish. I do not know how happy women would then be.... they would surely get bored of having each of their whims and fancies fulfilled. Every thing would be very obvious, predictable, monotonous and "so what".

Honestly, I am no misogynist. I believe in philanthropy. I do not take sides... because every coin has two sides to it. one adds value & beauty to the other. I have no idea what constitutes an IDEAL type of man or woman. Ideal, to me is like a limits problem in mathematics; a man/woman can only approach IDEAL but can not equal it. We always hope there is something extra which could be added, no matter what. That is life. The yearn for the extra bit..... to be an IDEAL one.

Do we need a Lokpal Bill?

Much has been written about pros and cons of Lokpal Bill. The question is
  • Do we really need to have a "Lokpal Bill" to curb corruption?
  • Will that really solve the problem?
  • Has our Constitution no act which takes into account what is being proposed in the bill?
  • Do we need someone/something to remind us about the punishment in order to prevent us from being corrupt?
  • What is the penalty if caught?
  • Am I responsible? How?
Our great constitution is one of the robust in the world. There are enough laws to take care of corruption at all levels. We lack in implementation. Being robust, the constitution offers many loopholes to take advantage of. I would suggest that we strengthen it by eliminating the ambiguity and clearer definition of what is right and wrong. The penalty must also include making good the loss caused due to their actions.

We need to educate the police and the public regarding the relevant laws and how to use them. Awareness of law is a must to eliminate corruption. Everyone, whether the person is a minister, IAS, police, industrialist, artist or a layman; must be treated equally. As the police and legal machinery too can be pulled up for being lax, they will ensure that the word of law is enforced without bias.

For this to happen, each and every person must exercise his power. As a citizen every one of us has a right to voice our displeasure and ensure that such a person can never hold any responsible office. If the person is from politics, that should be the death nail in their political coffin. Any person found and convicted for being corrupt must be punished as per the law. The penalty recovered must be put in to a fund for national development. Can you imagine the amount of revenue generated by this simple rule. (our budget will never show deficit!!!)

Corruption is rampant in those places where the "chalta hai" attitude is tolerated. It starts with us, who take lightly to the news of corruption and hail such a person to be great; when such a person ought to be shunned and insulted. Corruption spreads because it is lucrative and one rarely gets punished. The punishment, if ever caught, is very simple and often the person ends up enjoying the fruits of corruption. The punishment must be huge enough to deter anyone to even think about it. (you can get away with speeding or missing a red signal by paying a fine of Rs 200/- but imagine if the fine were to be about Rs 10,000/-). There must not be any 5 star treatments; either you are guilty or not guilty. If guilty, you need to pay for it. Caste, creed, dynasty or who you are/were are meaningless.

So the next time you say "chalta hai", be assured that you are promoting one more corruption and you could have been THAT person who would have nipped it in the bud.

Why was OBL killed?

I am reproducing what has appeared in the Yahoo comments:

10 Reasons – Why Osama Bin Laden got killed?

Because:
  1. - Manmohan Singh is not President of US.
  2. - Barack Obama doesn’t take permissions from Sonia Gandhi.
  3. - He was not hiding in India. Our system is unable to find a missing Chief Minister in own country, can you expect them to find Osama.
  4. - He didn’t surrender himself to Indian government. This government is not able to give death sentence to already arrested and convicted by the Supreme Court- Ajmal Kasab (eventually he would be by the SC) and Afzal Guru - after years. Had he surrendered to India, Osama could have spent a life here as our guest on our money.
  5. - CBI was not incharge of investigation and operation. They are busy in saving Kalmadi, Kanimozhi and Raja.
  6. - Amar Singh didn’t leak the tape of Obama’s phone though he could fake one.
  7. - In Pakistan, he was not in minority community (like in India), so no human right activist and secular journalist came to save him.
  8. - He didn’t meet Ekta Kapoor. She could have given him tip to be alive again.
  9. - He didn’t request Rajnikant to save him.
  10. - Last but not the least. He trusted Pakistan.

funny proof : Kashmir

An ingenious example of speech and politics occurred recently in the United Nations Assembly that made the world community smile.

A representative from India began: 'Before beginning my talk I want to tell you something about Rishi Kashyap of Kashmir, after whom Kashmir is named.

When he struck a rock and it brought forth water, he thought, 'What a good opportunity to have a bath.'

He removed his clothes, put them aside on the rock and entered the water.

When he got out and wanted to dress, his clothes had vanished. A Pakistani had stolen them.'

The Pakistani representative jumped up furiously and shouted, 'What are you talking about? The Pakistanis weren't there then.'

The Indian representative smiled and said, 'And now that we have made that clear, I will begin my speech.'

And they say Kashmir belongs
to them...
